Walmart was the lead sponsor of The Big Homecoming, a two-day festival in Atlanta, GA featuring a music tailgate experience to celebrate HBCU culture with students, alumni, and the greater community. I helped to create a themed activation, Makers Studio, for Walmart which had the most engagement at the event. Guests entered a colorful interactive space highlighting Black-owned businesses and creators. The Maker corners featured an HBCU alumni listening station, JD’s Vegan Ice Cream tasting, beauty product try-it table and a customizable swag activation. Through meaningful experiential marketing, we helped reposition Walmart as a business that celebrates the beauty of Black culture.
